About
Based in the UK, Octobersong Ltd has been established by Dr David Rudd, a graduate in Chemistry at the University of Manchester, and with a PhD in Analytical Spectroscopy at Imperial College, London. He worked initially for the Wellcome Foundation, then for Sterling-Winthrop R&D and then for over 30 years at GlaxoSmithKline, mostly in Pharmaceutical Development in R&D, but later in Global Quality in Manufacturing. During his career, he has gained significant experience in most aspects of drug and product development and manufacture and has been involved with many major commercialised products.
A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a Chartered Chemist and a Qualified Person, David has served on a number of ICH and FDA Regulatory/ Industry committees and has been instrumental in helping to develop several existing guidelines and strategy papers, particularly those focussing on Quality by Design and continuous processing. He is especially interested in the application of new technology to pharmaceutical manufacture.
Since retirement from GSK in 2016, David has formed Octobersong Ltd, a company which specialises in pharmaceutical consultancy, particularly late stage development and manufacture. Amongst other things, he can offer advice on Analytical, Formulation, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory and, more broadly, on business improvement. Octobersong Ltd also incorporates technical and scientific training (not just pharmaceutical).
In quieter moments, David can be found renovating his 400 year-old house, appearing on TV game shows or watching Charlton Athletic lose at home.
